We're Back with DIY Christmas :)
Sorry we have not been updating the site but we have been super busy with craft fairs (participating as vendors and organizing). I have posted some great DIY Christmas Decor ideas below. When you take the time to create your own decorations its just a more organic feel, doesn't look manufactured by some corporation that will never know and doesn't care to know who you are, and it shows you have taken some time to create a cozy environment for your loved ones during the holidays.

How to Make Birds Nest Pendant and Ring
I love these little birds nest rings and pendants. There are so many styles and variations of this design. I tend to gravitate towards the more organic looking ones with twisty, crumpled branches. Below are two videos showing two different methods on how to create this cute and surprisingly simple birds nest design for pendants and rings.

Create a Wreath from Roses made from an old Novel
I LOVE this concept! One of my favorite hobbies is to go trolling for old, weathered books, and repurpose them. I found this tutorial and created one myself! I actually had to use 2 books, and the yellowed pages gave it a great, antiqued look. Try it yourself and share it with us:) P.S This would make a great Holiday gift for someone who loves books.
HAVE FUN CRAFTING THIS WREATH!!

Handmade Rings GREAT SELLERS! And DIY Display
Cluster rings are always a hit at any craft show! They are fairly easy, an intermediate jewelry project, and seem to never go out of style. As the seasons change pay attention to the colors you use. With Fall approaching you will want to stick with earth tones, ambers, sage green, and maybe even substitute the silver wire for brass or copper. In Winter the color combos should be frosted blues, crystals, red and green of course. Customers tend to buy more silver items in the winter as well so go back to using the silver wire for those Holiday seasonal projects. The tutorial here is in three parts and the instructor is quite easy to follow. At the end I have listed a tutorial video on how to make a ring display, which I have used personally, and it makes a great ring display for show. I made three of them because I had that many rings! I always have a good selection of rings because they sell so fast! Enjoy the tutorials and let us know how your projects turn out:)

I actually used craft foam sheets from the kids craft section at Michaels and it was very sturdy, and I did the rolls one at a time instead 2 so that it would look more uniform.

How to Make Feather Earrings
This video is a great video showing how VERY easy it is to create super cute, fun, boho feather earrings. I'm actually headed to Hobby Lobby to buy supplies right now to create some, plus they are great sellers at craft shows and I happen to have some coming up. I will be making them with some long wispy feathers, like the ones used for extensions and some peacock feathers:)
I'll post them when they are finished!

Tsunami Kanzashi Flowers
"Kanzashi were first used in Japan during the Jōmon period. During that time, a single thin rod or stick was considered to have mystical powers which could ward off evil spirits, so people would wear them in their hair. This is also when some of the first predecessors of the modern Japanese hair comb began to appear.
During the Nara period, a variety of Chinese cultural aspects and items were brought to Japan, including zan (written with the same Chinese character as kanzashi) and other hair ornaments. During the Heian period, the traditional style of putting hair up was changed to wearing it long, tied back, and down. It was at this time that kanzashi began to be used as a general term for any hair ornament, including combs and hairpins.
During the Azuchi-Momoyama period, the hairstyles changed from the taregami (垂髪?), or long straight hair, to the wider variety of "Japanese hair" (日本髪, Nihongami?) which make more use of hair ornaments. Kanzashi came into wide use during the Edo period, when hairstyles became larger and more complicated, using a larger number of ornaments. Artisans began to produce more finely crafted products, including some hair ornaments which could be used as defensive weapons." Thanks Wikipedia:) Now of course we hope that you will not be using the information here to create weapons....but I guess it would be effective self defense. Check out the videos below and have fun crafting!
